Gary’s crew, Brian and Anthony came and pulled old bushes . They then planted new plants and laid more river rock. They also put an edge down along sides of house and filled in with river rock. They are hard workers and did an amazing job. Clean up was great. It looks beautiful!! I’m very pleased that I went with them!

We had an excellent experience from start to finish with the overhaul of our little neck of the woods here in Sarasota! Caroline has quite an eye and could practically read my mind as to what I was hoping for with the design of new landscaping in the front & back of our property. The tear-out of our old stuff, planting of the new, mulching, stone edging, all went quickly, efficiently, and very well done. The entire team is very detail oriented, which goes a long way with me. I highly recommend Landscaping on a Budget! They developed a plan with a detailed sketch. Sent pictures of the flowers to be used and worked out ways to complete the job saving as much money as possible. During the installation the crew discovered a severe irrigation leak and had to pause the work. They managed to get an irrigation crew out to do the repairs within 2 hours after I called around and could not get anyone out until the next day. I also had an old flower bed taken out and replaced with sod. They even refunded $200.00 for the unused sod. Gary and his team are fantastic!!

We needed some professional help in sprucing up our 18 year-old landscaping. Gary Bushorr and his assistant, Rayne, were knowledgeable and helped us improve our front and back yards with beautiful plantings. His crew of 2 young men were courteous and on time!!!! That doesn’t always happen here in Sarasota! They spread 70 bags of mulch after adding the shrubs and flowers, working hard all day in the heat. Even Gary’s wife Patti stopped over before she left to pick up all the mulch. Behind every good man is his woman! Gary has stopped by twice to check on the plantings and is going to replace a few small things that aren’t “happy”.  I HIGHLY recommend LANDSCAPING ON A BUDGET. I’ve never been so pleased, ever.

I am writing this POSITIVE review because Gary & Patti of LANDSCAPING ON A BUDJET deserve it!

PRICING….WORK ETHIC…KNOWLEDGE...AND FOLLOW UP ARE ALL TOP NOTCH…

To begin with I got three bids for the job which required 12 full pallets of sod. I received a quote from my landscaper and two internet sites. Landscaping on a budget had the most positive reviews which is why I included them in my search. However, the other internet site quoted me a substantially lower price which I was leery of but the owner assured me that his sod was also ST. Augustine and top notch so I was ready to go with him. Gary happened to call back and when I told him I had decided to go with the other company because of the pricing, he informed me that it was just not feasible pricing. After some additional consideration I decided to hire Gary. Later on, I found out that Gary was right. Even though the other company told me they were using Saint Augustine floratam sod they were “lying” . I drove to a recent work site of theirs and they used BAHIA sod which is much cheaper, not nice looking and is used along highways.

Gary was also the only landscaper that informed me that it was better NOT TO REMOVE THE EXISTING SOD SINCE THAT WOULD DISTURB THE WEED ROOTS AND INSECTS but that it was better to level out the sod along the sidewalks and use the existing sod as a base. I took a deep breath since I had not heard of this before but decided he knew what he was talking about. I also own a corner lot which means I have substantially more sidewalk to deal with. Patti and his two workers showed up promptly on the scheduled date and worked steadily throughout the day to prep the lawn for the top soil. The second day the top soil was delivered and spread out evenly. I would also like to say the quality of the top soil was top notch. The last day the sod was delivered and put in place. As Gary had promised the sod was also TOP NOTCH. Now that it has been 1 1/2 months and the new sod has adhered I have received several compliments from neighbors.

Now here is the reason for the 6 STAR REVIEW.

The house next door to me is vacant and that lawn is full of weeds. Two weeks after the sod was laid I started getting dollar weeds throughout my new sod. Needless to say I was upset. Gary sent out a worker to put down SCOTTS BONUS S. However a week later I called back and told him the weeds were still thriving! Gary then came out to view the situation and explained the weeds were NOT coming from underneath but the seeds from the neighbors weeds were being blown by the wind onto my newly sodded lawn. He then sent his worker back with Ortho’s WEED B-GON spray. That worked. Also, during this period I also had a small section of sod die. Once again they promptly came back and replaced this small section with new sod. It was quite a relief this company DOES STAND BEHIND ITS WORK and doesn’t leave you to fend for yourself once they have your money and something has gone wrong.

I highly recommend this company not only for the quality of sod snd workmanship but for the “PIECE OF MIND ALSO”.

Several weeks ago, Landscaping on a  budget, Sarasota, FL, worked its magic in my yard! My front island was terribly overgrown! Gary Bushorr and his skilled team came in and really cleaned up the island, put down heavy-duty landscape cloth and a layer of mulch. It is professional grade and I know nothing is going to get through. They installed a row of Yellow Maui Ixora up my sidewalk that has a continual show of color. 

In the backyard, I had tall ferns that were taking over the patio and yard. Now it is a beautiful spot I want to be in. 

Gary is so easy to deal with - He gave me a written estimate, and his team did exactly what I asked for. They were on time, professional and stayed with the job until it was done. Gary also gave me written care instructions in how to take care of my new landscaping.  I can highly recommend Landscaping on a Budget.

We had a pool installed and our backyard and side yard were literally destroyed. We met with Gary and he designed a landscape plan for us. We liked his ideas and went ahead with the landscaping project. Gary and his crew installed sod, numerous plants all around the lanai (30 ft. x 30 ft.), two palm trees, two magnolia trees and 10 Areca palms along the back of our yard. They installed a decorative brick edging around the plants around the lanai. On one side of the lanai they installed stepping stones and river rock. Of course, mulch was put around all the plants. In the front yard we requested river rock and the decorative brick edging be installed around our plants. There are many flowering plants and they are just beautiful. All of the plantings have just transformed our yard to a wonderful oasis. Gary and his crew are excellent workers and go above and beyond to get the job done correctly. They are punctual, polite, and accommodating. We just love our backyard now and would hire Landscaping on a Budget again without hesitation.

I can't say enough good things about Landscaping on a Budget. Gary and his crew did a stellar job on two projects for us. We needed to add plants to our existing gardens as well as move plants to new locations. Gary is a real pro and came up with a great plan that he executed perfectly. He also put new sod down on our entire lawn. This was a big job requiring 13 pallets. The finished project is beautiful. I am consistently getting compliments from my neighbors about how beautiful our lawn looks now. If you are in need of a great landscaping company, give Gary a call.

Originally used Designscape. they sold me a bill of goods and the front bed came out horrible and never grew in. Plants were cheap and most died. Charged me a boatload. I just used Gary at Landscaping on a Budget to redesign the whole front yard. He did a great job. The bed is well designed, have quality healthy plants and he was very reasonable. Easy to work with and knowledgeable. His staff was great also.
